Accessing CISD Public Wi-Fi
To connect to CISD Public Wi-Fi you must first register or login using your CISD account. Note: By default, Apple and Android phones anonymize the identity of your device when connecting to a WiFi network. This security feature prevents our systems from properly identifying your device, and as a result you could be prompted to register every time your device connects to CISD Public. Both Apple and Google allow you to turn off this feature per network. This means you can disable the feature for CISD Public, but leave it on for other networks you connect. If you need help disabling this feature, refer to our solution article How Do I Turn Off MAC Randomization? For Guests: When registering your information your account will be valid for 24 hours. After that time you will have to register again. For Staff and Students: If you sign in with your CISD account you will not be prompted to register or sign in every day. If your device doesn't get prompted to register or sign in, and you don't have Internet access, go back to your device's network settings and forget the CISD Public network, then reconnect to CISD Public. Alternatively, you can go to go.com. Your browser will be redirected to the Welcome to Coppell ISD page. Guest Registration Enter your name and email address. View the Responsible Use for Technology Resources and then check the box accepting the terms. Click Register when done. Your registration details, including the time your account expires will appear. Click Log In. After clicking the Log In button a 10 second countdown timer will appear. After the timer reaches 0 you will be redirected to the Coppell ISD homepage. Staff and Student Login Enter your CISD username and password to sign in. Note: Do not enter your full email address. After you have entered your valid CISD credentials a 10 second countdown timer will appear. After the timer reaches 0 you will be redirected to the Coppell ISD homepage.

How Do I Create a Unique Password That’s Also Strong?
Overview The secret to creating a hard-to-crack password that’s unique and easy to remember is to focus on making it memorable and making it hard to guess. Seems simple enough, right? By learning a few simple skills, you can easily create a strong and memorable password with minimal effort. Instructions Make it long. This is the most critical factor. Choose nothing shorter than 12 characters, more if possible. Use a mix of characters. The more you mix up letters (upper-case and lower-case), numbers, and symbols, the more potent your password is, and the harder it is for a brute force attack to crack it. Make it a passphrase. Some of the easiest-to-remember passwords aren’t words at all but collections of words that form a phrase or sentence or helps to create a mental picture. Perhaps the opening sentence to your favorite novel, or the opening line to a good joke. The idea is to create something that is easily memorable for you. Don’t use easily guessed passwords. “password” and “iloveyou” are commonly used, and easily guessed. Avoid using district specific words like Coppell, or the name or mascot of your school. Avoid common substitutions. Password crackers are hip to the usual substitutions. Whether you use DOORBELL or D00R8377, the brute force attacker will crack it with equal ease. These days, random character placement is much more effective than common leetspeak* substitutions. (*leetspeak definition: an informal language or code used on the Internet, in which standard letters are often replaced by numerals or special characters.) Don’t use memorable keyboard paths. Much like the advice above not to use sequential letters and numbers, do not use sequential keyboard paths either (like qwerty and 12345678). These are among the first to be guessed. Don't reuse passwords. Make sure the password you use for your CISD account is not being used for any of your other accounts.
